This work's scope, and Professor Conteh-Morgan's knowledge of the intellectual history of the subject is astounding. It renders the theoretical work done on this subject in all of the social sciences accessible across disciplinary boundaries--which I hope will inspire many productive collaborative and interdisciplinary projects.
