About the Author
Dr. Donna Summers received a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 1982; A Masters of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University in 1984. A PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Cincinnati in 1990. She has been teaching at the University of Dayton since 1984. She has authored three books in the subject areas of Quality Assurance: Quality 5e; Quality Management 2e and Six Sigma. She is known for emphasizing practical application of Industrial Engineering tools and techniques.

Great read for TQM principles

I am completing my Masters degree and this was a required book for my Total Quality Management course. This is one of the few books that I have actually enjoyed reading and decided to keep so I can reference it in the future. It provides a solid over view of a number of quality management principles and theories. It was straight forward and easy to read unlike some others where authors over complicate things in an attempt to justify spending absurd amount of money on their textbooks.

Useless book you will have to buy for school

Terrible book that taught me nothing. Had to buy for class. Learned more from instructor than this book. Necessary evil I guess.

Transformed my career

This book transformed my career. By opening up a new way of looking at an organization and its customers, my entire thought process on the job has changed and I've been reaping the benefits ever since. I knocked it down by a star because the case studies are made up scenarios, which detracts from the effect.
